Introduction: |
This mod is aimed more towards the people who like more 'practical' swords, almost realistic. While those swords are still considered 'fantasy' they look and feel as if they could have existed in that way. Some are inspired by LotR (obviously), some by living and dead sword smiths from all over the world. As of now all seven bastard swords can be found in Cyrodiil in addition to the replicas that can still be bought at the Slash'n Smash in the Imperial City.

What this mod does: |
Adds new more historical oriented weaponry. All weapons have a scripted enchantment (see weapon list below for details) that don't need to be recharged. Each weapon also has a 'favorite' enemy, meaning that this weapon will be able to kill a certain type of enemy instantly when a critical hit is scored. As of v0.53 you can tweak the amount of extra damage, the chance for extra and critical hits and if instant kills are possible or not via an ingame menu.
To bring up the ingame menu type "startquest ACWMenu" into the console, close it and wait a few seconds.
Replicas - which are only for those who want to take a look at them or place them in their house - are available at the 'Slash'n Smash' in the Imperial City market district (subject to change). Non-Replica version are scattered across all over Tamriel, each one only once so every piece is unique. You can buy a rare and very expensive book in the book shop in the Imperial Market district (or steal it for free if you dare). This book contains hints on where to find those weapons. Some may be a bit tricky to find (i.e. not lying on the ground) and some you will have to fight for... I will give no more hints! If you're looking for locations and spoilers, ask fellow players, not me ;)

What's new in this version: |
0.63:
- Fixed a bug where the Boss that is supposed to carry Sorrow didn't appear. Sorry for the folks who were searching in the right spot but came out with empty hands!
- Moved Frostfang to its new location. The hintbook for Frostfang is still missing. Sorry!
- Added missing icon for Frostfang and changed icon for Reign of Truth.
0.62:
- Reworked the scripts somewhat to reduce the problem with enemies getting passive. Slight changes to the effects made in the process.
- Reign of Truth redone from scratch (I know it resembles Anduril, that was my intention - I like the design).
- Thanks to Painkiller_rider the swords also have shadows now.
0.60:
- Kinslayer revamped, made it a little more ornate and tweaked the mesh a bit, completely new texture for the sword and the scabbard - feedback welcome.
- Placed the ranger bow and one of the viking swords (Glondemir) in the world.
- Added 'Frostfang', a nordic style claymore that can change the weather - it starts to snow if you score a critical hit ;)
- If you try to wield one of the bastard swords or 'Frostfang' with one hand only you will need at least a strength of 80 or you will suffer damage penalties.
0.53:
- Added an ingame menu to let the player tweak the following values: Amount of extra damage (scripted), chance of extra- and critical hits, instant kills possible yes/no (console: startquest ACWMenu)
0.52:
- Finally fixed 'Despair' (Thanks to miketee721 who pointed out my stupidity ;))... don't ask.
0.51 beta:
- Fixed a bug with the 2-handed version of 'Despair' (Thanks to Aldaron)
0.50 beta:
- Each (non-replica) Bastard Sword now has its own unique enchantment.

Where can I find those weapons: |
Either pure luck (sorry, couldn't help), or you buy the book 'The Seven Swords' in the IC Market district book shop. There are no exact locations named (apart from the name of the ruin sometimes) so you will have to search for them and no, I will give no more hints! If you need spoilers please ask fellow players in the forums, not me ;)

Version history: |
0.40 beta:

- Added a book to the bookseller in the IC Market district (very expensive relic) that will give you hints on where to find the weapons.
- All weapons but one are unenchanted.
0.35 alpha:
- Changed the way that textures are applied, I hope to have found a good compromise between shineyness in dungeons and outdoors.
- Included swap scripts to swap the Bastard Swords from one-handed use to two-handed. Should also work for the replicas available at the Slash'n Smash shop.
0.30 alpha:
- Added two more Viking skins and scabbards for the Viking swords.
0.21 alpha:
- Forgot to include the .esp in v0.20 ;)

0.10 alpha:
- First set of blades, for internal use only (modders resource)
